The MiniDV years, when small digital palmcorders took over and the last analog models, like Sony's 2004 Analog Handycam, sold beside them. Most cameras here have FireWire (i.LINK), and many are the youngest tape camcorders you can buy. They're still twenty years old, so ask whether the camera has played and recorded a tape, and check the screen for dim patches or lines.
